I believe I fixed the custom BUILDDIR issue as of 2.79.1-2, thanks for reporting.

Thanks for making the AUR for this package.
I wanted to report that since version 2.75.2, building does not work if you have a custom BUILDDIR set in /etc/makepkg.conf The build script is looking for a file in the wrong place:
