It's a pacaur limitation. Simple solution: don't use pacaur.

Are you using an AUR helper? If so, can you please try to manually download the PKGBUILD and run 'makepkg -s'?

I saw your post on Phoronix and thought I'd give this a try however I'm getting an error when installing:

Yes, OpenCL works for me.

Got this to build fine, and it seems to work at least as well as linux-amd-staging-git does. Are there any particular boot parameters you'd recommend? Should opencl work with this kernel, or are we still waiting on more work from AMD for that?

It's a backport of AMD's Display Code from agd5f's drm-next-4.15-dc branch to latest stable kernel. It is needed to be able to use Vega cards for anything else than headless computing. You may also need it of you want to use Display Port Multistream, HDMI audio, Freesync and other otherwise unsupported features on GCN 1.1+ cards.

And this does what? Sources point to your github with no documentation whatsoever on what you changed from upstream.
