The master branch is the same with the development branch now, you can just change the branch back to master now.

WARNING: I'm switching this package to track the development branch because it contains critical fixes not in master.

I've filed an upstream issue for kernels >= 5.18: https://github.com/linux-apfs/linux-apfs-rw/issues/25 I cannot do anything about the incompatibility until upstream fixes it.

I requested a merge of the old linux-apfs-dkms-git package into this one, since the old https://github.com/linux-apfs/linux-apfs-oot repo is now archived and will no longer be updated.

Thank you so much for the quick response, Luflosi! I just updated my kernel/headers to 5.10.2 and it works! I previously had 5.9.16, and I think the headers hadn't installed properly for whatever reason even though I had run the command earlier and didn't remember it erroring out. Still a bit on the green side of all of this, and trying to learn as much as I can from the wiki and everyone here so I really appreciate the help!

It compiles fine for me with Linux 5.10.4. What error message did you get?

Hello, I'm a bit new here so I wanted to apologize in advance if I'm not following the proper protocol, but has this been updated to build on any of the newer kernel versions (5.9+)? It wasn't working for me last night when I tried, so I'm considering downgrading my kernel if it hasn't been updated.

Luflosi commented on 2020-09-13 21:59 (UTC)

I confirmed that this now builds on the 5.8 kernel. Thank you for your comment and patch anyways.

Because this fails to build on the 5.8 kernel, I've made an updated PKGBUILD which fixes this, with a URL to a patch I made: https://www.mediafire.com/file/xr8nghekhggs6fb/PKGBUILD/file

@Luflosi please add this if you can, feel free to add the .patch file to the directory here and change the PKGBUILD accordingly if you'd like.

EDIT: It seems like the repo maintainer (eafer) noticed this and will commit it (see https://github.com/linux-apfs/linux-apfs-oot/issues/5#issuecomment-668921280). It might not be necessary to add the patch once he commits.

EDIT 2: Deluxe Edition Remastered: eafer committed my patch and this is no longer necessary!
