@jonathanvk The clr team removed the patch that was causing issues. latest 6.6.10-2
should fix it.
jonathanvk commented on 2024-01-06 11:11 (UTC)
After installing 6.6.10-1, my system hangs on ifconfig. I can only boot by disabling NetworkManager. Reverting to 6.6.8-1 works.

@metak, didn't work. Found this but no real solution about it:

@csts Maybe try without serial console console=ttyS0,115200n8
?
csts commented on 2023-12-10 16:55 (UTC)
Should I change something in:
quiet console=tty0 console=ttyS0,115200n8 cryptomgr.notests initcall_debug intel_iommu=igfx_off kvm-intel.nested=1 no_timer_check noreplace-smp page_alloc.shuffle=1 rcupdate.rcu_expedited=1 rootfstype=ext4,btrfs,xfs,f2fs tsc=reliable rw
To avoid getting this on every boot:

it's fixed in 6.6.4, apparently

@seqfault Sorry, I barely have any free time to update the packages these days. Can you just install linux-clear binary from my repo and see if it boots?
seqfault commented on 2023-11-30 11:59 (UTC)
@metak? there's no issue tracker in upstream repo, can you help me?
seqfault commented on 2023-11-30 02:13 (UTC) (edited on 2023-11-30 18:53 (UTC) by seqfault)
forget about not being able to compile with llvm18, I can't boot into 6.6.3 at all. the system freezes on gdm with blinking caps lock light, here's journalctl -b -1: https://0x0.st/HxN4.txt. linux-hardened works fine

The PKGBUILD file supports a few different configurable build-time options:
_makenconfig
Tweak kernel options prior to a build via nconfig. Pseudo-graphical menu based on ncurses. 1 2_localmodcfg
Only compile active modules to VASTLY reduce the number of modules built and the build time._subarch
Enable additional optimization/tuning for kernel builds by adding more micro-architectures options. Default isGeneric-x86-64
number36
if nothing else is selected._use_current
Use the current kernel's.config
file. Enabling this option will use the.config
of the RUNNING kernel rather than the ARCH defaults. Useful when the package gets updated and you already went through the trouble of customizing your config options. NOT recommended when a new kernel is released, but again, convenient for package bumps._use_llvm_lto
Compile the kernel with LLVM/Clang._debug
Enabley
some additional debug features present in arch kernel, but not in Clear upstream.n
to force disable or leave empty to ignore.Lastly, build the kernel by setting your environment variable
env _subarch=40 _localmodcfg=y

1. Binaries available in my repo: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/metakcahura:/kernel/Arch_Extra_standard/x86_64/
THIS IS OPTIONAL:
2. After install adjust your boot cmd line. ClearLinux uses clr-boot-manager which takes care of that. This is upstream default:
