Hi @gloriouseggroll!
Thanks for your compliments! We really appriciete them!

About your issue,
the sha256sum is correct; the issue is within makepkg.

Solution: DELETE the file 0003-block-bfq-add-Early-Queue-Merge-EQM-to-BFQ-v7r11-for.patch before running makepkg. The up to date one will be downloaded.

The problem is that the file didn't change name, but it changed in content. Since makepkg is already finding the file downloaded, it's not downloading it again. Even if the path to the file is different.

Anyway the two patches should be practicallty identical, just a version in the header of the patch should differ. So I don't think you should run in any problem. Just in case recompile with the correct patch :)

sha256sum failed for

0003-block-bfq-add-Early-Queue-Merge-EQM-to-BFQ-v7r11-for.patch

just a heads up

Heya, just letting you know I really like this kernel. Runs really nicely for gaming, its also the only kernel I've found with BFQ that doesn't stutter during vulkan games. Having steam xpad integration is awesome as well. Really glad I found this. Keep up the great work!

@oldnordic

You have to import kernel gpg keys to verify it
try to run this before compiling the package.
gpg --recv-keys 79BE3E4300411886 38DBBDC86092693E

it should be sufficent

I'm sorry for the slow update. I have a ready version, but I'm having issues with it. Unluckly I've also issues with my main machine and I'm using a borrowed one right now.

As soon as I'm sure the issue I'm having are not kernel related, I'll publish the update.

Sorry for keep you waiting :(

the BFQ kernel panic issue was been fixed in 2nd "revision" version ..anyway 4.7 kernel has arrived (stable repos) and patches for it

I just hope nvidia (non-free) drivers will support 4.7 kernel soon (officially), there is some patch that does work

portaloffreedom commented on 2016-08-03 12:49

I'm experiencing some kernel panics with the new BFQ, so I'm downgrading myself to 4.6.4-1.

If anyone else is experiencing kernel panics, I will downgrade for everyone.

I'm updating to the new version of BFQ, but for the kernel update I will keep in sync with the archlinux version.
I don't have enough time to follow all minor patches that should be applied (as sometimes arch does, usually fixing kernel panics).

Is also a guarantee for me that the kernel has been tested by several arch-linux users without BFQ and steamos patches. If any problem arises, is going to be because of these patches, or I will find the solution from the arch linux community (depending on where the problem is originating from).
