@frol: yes, I run it "local/linux-odroid-u3-git 4.13.7-2"

The way I have my media partitioned, I have bootdir=/ bootpart=0:1 in /boot/uEnv.txt, with /dev/mmcblk1p1 mounted on /boot. I customized things, though, (running a btrfs raid1 over eMMC+SD), so little point in blindly trying it. Also, make sure initramfs-linux.img was generated correctly during installation of the package. You absolutely need to get a 1.8v UART-to-USB dongle to see where the boot is failing (ameridroid.com).

Have you succeeded to boot into this kernel? I have been able to compile the package just fine, and updated /boot/uEnv.txt with uEnv-mainline.txt (updated bootpart [tried 0:1 and 1:1], bootdir=/boot/, mmcroot [tried /dev/mmcblk0p1 and /dev/mmcblk1p1]), but when I try to boot, my board just hangs with solid blue indicator and never boots.
