It's on linux-mainline (5.12rc2-1 as of writing), if you like to live dangerously.

@Lyude, I haven't seen the patches land in mainstream. Is there something holding it up? I'm happy to help out with testing, if that's at all useful (I have an XPS 15 with an OLED panel).

@mick2k1, you need to regenerate your bootloader config. If you're using grub it's "sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg" - grub should find the new kernel automatically. Then when you reboot choose linux-oled option.

@sebastka, @Lyude

That's great! Where did you find that information? Do you know which vertsion will have it and will zen kernel also be patched?

I'm on the latest kernel (tried both zen and standard) and the brightness control still doesn't work for me (neither by using function keys or KDE controls).

I have Gigabyte Aero 15 with 4K OLED panel.

@Lyude

also-for any other arch users wondering, these patches will be going upstream in the next day or so.

Hooray, thanks for your work!

@phush0 Hi! I'm not an Arch user, but I am the person who wrote these patches. After I noticed some bizarre behaviour on one of my laptop's display panels Anarsoul pointed me at your issue with brightness levels not being reset properly after suspend/resume. Do you think you could send me an email at the address I'm using for this account? I'd like to see if I can figure out what's going on with your panel and whether the issues it's having are similar to the weird machine I've got locally.

also-for any other arch users wondering, these patches will be going upstream in the next day or so.

@Scimmia thanks, I'll fix it in next revision.
