@sir_lucjan, given that it is an all day process to compile this kernel on my old 2010 Dell Latitude E6410, I'm not too keen on trying to compile an older kernel verion. The last version to successfully compile was 5.5.13-3-uksm. I could just wait until a new version appears and give it another go.

Oh, I see. The problem is probably with sphinx version 3.0 - I didn't manage to update it. Can you check if there is a problem with version 5.4/5.5?

I've been building a 5.6 kernel since the first release and I haven't experienced this error. I will try to do something about it, but it will be extremely difficult if it doesn't happen with me. Can someone confirm that?

While compiling this kernel today it failed with this error:

Running Sphinx v3.0.0

enabling CJK for LaTeX builder

Extension error:

Could not import extension cdomain (exception: cannot import name 'c_funcptr_sig_re' from 'sphinx.domains.c' (/usr/lib/python3.8/site-packages/sphinx/domains/c.py))

make[1]: *** [Documentation/Makefile:81: htmldocs] Error 2

make: *** [Makefile:1549: htmldocs] Error 2

==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().

Aborting...

A second rather annoying issue that I've also noticed is that every few times I compile it that during the above phase, when it is running, it logs me out, which stops the compilation process. I have no idea why it does this yet, but because of this behavior some kernel versions are not able to be compiled on my system.
