This package has been renamed to python-lockmgr following Arch package naming conventions.

Please use https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/python-lockmgr as this package will be deleted in the near future.

@GeneArch: Following the package naming guidelines, I think this package should be renamed to "python-lockmgr"

@piater so sorry. Lets see if we can sort this out. Can you please show output of:

cd src/lockmkgr ; ./scripts/do-build; ./scripts/do-install

If that works ok - then please show output of:

cd ../../ ; makepkg -f

It does not build for me:

Build targets in project: 0
[...]
ninja: no work to do.
==> Starting check()...
[...]
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'lockmgr'

In fact, src/lockmgr/build/release/src is empty.

Thank you @TrialnError - absolutely right - so sorry. makedepends - Fixed in 1.9.3. build/install exit with errors - fixed in 1.9.4

Doesn't this miss a makedepends on meson?

./scripts/do-build: line 11: /usr/bin/meson: No such file or directory

Same happening in package(). And the way the build scripts work they will finish successfully instead of failing which covers this up.

As both the packager and upstream author I'd like to encourage all users to activate "git source verification" if not already done. Please see comment in the PKGBUILD file. The recent supply chain issues highlight the importance of validating source code.

All git tags are signed and going forward, every commit will also be signed.

The public signing key is available in a few places, but I recommend getting it either via WKD or directly from the website of the key's email domain. These are sound ways to do this. For additional information please see:

To get the key via WKD:

gpg --auto-key-locate nodefault,wkd --locate-external-keys arch@sapience.com

python-installer is missing in makedepends.
