Well, makepkg is not supposed to touch anything in the system, I cannot add any command that modifies actual system within PKGBUILD Warning comes from the fact that makepkg builds package in fakeroot environmenent.

Even so, you you just copied PKGBUILD for 5.3 version, so you have exactly the same problem/warning there, I am really not sure what you'd like me to do. :)

It was expecting to find it's files inside the cache directory makepkg was run from, not the system.

/usr/bin/lua5.1: cannot open /home/caleb/.cache/yay/lua51-lcf/pkg/lua51-lcf/usr/lib/luarocks/rocks-5.1/lcf/5.1-2/bin/lua.reformat: No such file or directory

Note I've added a lua-lcf package for the most current version (since this package was building only the Lua 5.1 branch).

Also, this is lcf for lua 5.1, not for lua 5.3

Care to provide a bit more details? "Something is manged" doesn't help me much.

This package does not work, something ends up mangled in the paths that get installed to the system.
