Wont build with automake 1.13:
==> Starting make...
You must have automake > 1.10 or 1.11 installed to compile lxinput.
Install the appropriate package for your distribution,
or get the source tarball at http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/automake/
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
Aborting...
==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build lxinput-git.

It should work by default, but you probably have to use lxsession.
I encourage you to discuss this on www.lxde.org either on the forum, http://forum.lxde.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=31550
or preferably on the mailing list: Lxde-list@lists.sourceforge.net

How do you make configurations made by lxinput "sticky", that is, so they persist across logins?
Thanks.

Please report this upstream, as I will not be available during the weekend to track this bug myself, or wait until Monday.
Problem : lxinput.desktop has been moved to data/ so configure.ac and Makefile.am needs to be updated consequently.
