Installing oxygen-icons did solve the icons issue, well except for just a few programs like smplayer2 or urxvt but nothing important (I still have to find the way to tell qt (4 and 5) what icon theme it has to load on a gtk-qt mixed system, cause I configured both gtk2 and gtk3 to use Faience and Faenza as a fallback).

Try installing oxygen-icons-git and setting the icon theme in appearance.

It doesn't call ~/.config/openbox/autostart in my case. Neither with sddm nor with slim and .xinitrc calling startlxqt. Many icons won't show up in the menus. System tray widgets are invisible (volume, device manager), but they're there and can be controlled.

autologin is in /etc/sddm.conf as autouser, but be aware that it's currently broken. https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/93

What about auto login? Where is the configuration file?

jleclanche commented on 2014-05-09 12:38 (UTC)

sddm is the recommended display manager. systemctl enable sddm would do it. As for the oxygen look, you can configure the qt theme with qtconfig-qt4.

I have installed the packages on a lxde system. What is the best way to autostart lxqt? It is better to install lightdm and remove lxdm and make a "systemctl enable sddm"? I have tried that (removing lxdm...) however I cannot find a way to enable the oxygen look that I see in the official lxqt site. Some suggestions?

@jleclanche, that is okay. And by the way, thanks a lot for this package.

Probably not too soon, but yes eventually. I talked to the TU in charge of the LXDE packages about it.

Any likelihood that lxqt will land at the official repositories any time soon?
