Please note on the out of date flag: This is the latest version. The version that madsonic tells you is later is in fact a beta. Technically madsonic is NOT out of date (unless you want beta)

This has been out of date for almost 2 months. Any word on when the new version will be packaged?

blueray please make the following changes:-

change dependency java-runtime to jre7-openjdk-headless

add in dependency fontconfig - required for coverart support, otherwise you get the error i reported earlier (2014-04-10 10:38)

change message at end of build process to reflect correct bash script, see klingt.net post below (2014-05-11 10:09)

Question - the java dependency listed is java-runtime, which will install jre7-openjdk

Should it be java-runtime-headless instead? That will default to installing jre7-openjdk-headless

The edit message that is shown at the end of the installation is wrong, the file correct filepath is `/var/madsonic/madsonic.sh`.

update - the below issues were fixed by re-installing jre7-openjdk-headless, have no idead what caused it but hey worth a go if anybody runs into the same issue.

this currently does not work for me, getting no coverart showing up and seeing a internal error when in the webui and clicking on the "artist" icon, also seeing the following in the log file:-

[4/9/14 5:30 PM] WARN RESTFilter Error in REST API: /usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk/jre/lib/amd64/headless/libmawt.so: libfontconfig.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

and

[4/9/14 5:31 PM] WARN CoverArtController Failed to process cover art /net/unraid/mnt/user/Music/Albums/Rock/Metal/Bon Jovi/New Jersey/music track01 file.mp3: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class javax.imageio.ImageIO

my gut feeling is madsonic is not compatible with the latest version of java, im currently using the following version:-

java version "1.7.0_51"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea 2.4.6) (ArchLinux build 7.u51_2.4.6-1-x86_64)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.51-b03, mixed mode)

anybody else seeing this issue, if so is there a workaround for this?.

You should change your .install info, the file is madsonic.sh.

I keep a few variables in madsonic.sh configured differently than the package defaults. The latest update wiped them out and I had to reconfigure them. Consider using pacnew files in the future? Thanks for the effort.
