At the very least, get rid of rpmextract. makepkg will do it for you if you just remove the noextract array.

@madc very cool! Indeed the lack of setting menu is kind of a deal breaker though, but it's much better than nothing. Also the current AUR PKGBUILD is broken (dependencies are gone) anyway, thus I'd say it would be nice to use yours instead, if @ zomernifalt could take another look

I've built on madc's work, and am able to run the software, connect, update firmware, and print with the default settings - but not change print settings. You can view the files at this GIST: https://gist.github.com/TheFeshy/6a47267495359e90627594a34c313b09

I've been playing around with the ubuntu repo and have come quite far. Have a look at this GIST: https://gist.github.com/madc/1f19f440b1bc5e904967c7a9ce2acf0a Help is appreciated.

To be honest, extracting the software from the DEB archives was the first thing I tried, but I could not make it work. My semester is almost over, so I might give it another try soon

From makerbot's recent installation guide (here: http://support.makerbot.com/learn/makerbot-desktop-software/installation-and-setup/how-to-install-makerbot-desktop-for-linux_11262): """ MakerBot is no longer releasing new versions of MakerBot Desktop for Fedora, but MakerBot Desktop 3.6 is available for Fedora 20 and 21. Follow these instructions to install MakerBot Desktop for the first time. """ How hard would it be to change the PKGBUILD to extract from the provided ubuntu package instead of the old Fedora one?

Hi, guys! I haven't been neglecting this package, I am aware of all the updates that have come out. The thing is, the method I use to acquire the RPMs keeps giving me version 3.6 If someone could give me an alternative method for getting the archives, or if anyone here who uses Fedora could check Makerbot's official page and install the software, and then tell me what version you're getting, I'd immediately resume maintaining this package. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience this causes you in the meantime

Are you planning to repackage the latest version 3.9.1? thx!

Well, so far I've had to downgrade boost, boost-libs, jsoncpp (using the PKGBUILD posted by madc)...
