@Karrq this discussion may be helpful for you, I used it to get Manager working.

Hello @Karrq i use the latest Version. In the Forum of Manager.io is a solution posted. Downgrade to gtk3-1:3.24.30-1-x86_64 and your data will open fine. https://forum.manager.io/t/appimage-does-not-work-crashes/37204/9

@testbird71

I had trouble using the AppImage, when opening my data it would crash and on the terminal a stack smashing detection would trigger. What version are you using?

I'm trying to install the latest version of Manager Accounting (21.10.13) by updating PKGBUILD and .SRCINFO to new pkgver (from 20.9.63 to 21.10.13) and changing "Manager.zip" to "Manager-Linux-x64.zip" to suit the new distribution changes. I also changed "ManagerDesktop.exe" to "ManagerDesktop" in /usr/bin/manager-accounting to suit new native executable.

The program doesn't run however, just nothing happens, no journal output. Does the new Manager Accounting distribution still require mono? I tried /usr/bin/manager-accounting with and without "exec /usr/bin/mono" but same result both ways. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thanks!

I switched to an ARM64 system for the low power consumption (a HardKernel Odroid N2+) and last time I checked can't use the x86_64 Manager builds, since latest Manager distributed versions include .net environment compiled to manager in x86_64 binary format which breaks CPU cross compatibility meaning I can't use latest versions of Manager on AArch64 :( https://github.com/Manager-io/Manager.zip/issues/2 maybe I can add a co-maintainer to this package or disown it and I would create another manager package targeted at ARM/AArch64. Suggestions maintainers are welcome!

@jgmdev any updates on packaging a more recent version ?

jgmdev commented on 2020-09-29 19:35 (UTC)

@novica It seems that manager developer did some distribution changes (by bundling the whole native .Net runtime) and latest desktop versions seem to only be packaged for x64. But .Net/Mono applications should be able to also run on ARM (aarch64) which is one of the machines I'm running it. For the moment I set the version to the latest one that still worked as before until I can inspect if it is possible to also run the latest versions on arm64.

Currently installing fails with:

==> ERROR: Failure while downloading https://github.com/Manager-io/Manager.zip/releases/download/20.9.76/Manager.zip

@techandy1 The PKGBUILD automatically should fetch latest version from github but I did updated version number in .SRCINFO so aur helpers like yay can pick it up.
