I think I'll orphan this package, I don't see any sense in maintaining it, see manaverse-git for the active fork of the ManaPlus client.

@luuuciano fixed patch set, although the changes are not of the best quality and a lot of code with the newer libxml2 is just unnecessarily complex.

That being said, I don't think it matters anymore, ManaPlus hasn't get any meaningful code updates for ages. It seems it is going into the direction that either there will be a need to fork it or maintain the large patch set within AUR in this repository for it to just compile – might be more feasible to just orphan this package, request for deletion in the future and just drop it for manaverse-git or future manaverse once it will reach stable release cycle.

It seems that it is needing some new patchs?

@Dragonlord glad to hear this moves towards SDL2, if any decision will be made to drop this package from AUR eventually and use replaces=, I have no objection. I think some reasoning why SDL1 is still being used in Manaplus or Manaverse at upstream was that it might be more performant in cases the engine runs at software mode but for most cases I don't think there's any reason to use it. And if Arch decides on dropping on SDL1 entirely from the repo, it'll be wise to do something like this for my manaverse-git package as well.

Also as of manaplus, I don't see much development going on and there was definitely some effort on some other clients like manaverse (which is a fork of manaplus maintained by some devs that are also admins/mods of tmw servers, at least from what I could find out) and even some "clients" that while working on the manaverse under-the-hood, they try to aim for some more complex account system and multi-server way of playing the game via the protocol introduced for that matter. But that stuff still seems to be rather in work-in-progress state…

I've dropped the regular manaplus package from [extra] to AUR, might make sense to update that one to SDL2 and merge these 2 together cheers!
