@tari01: Alright, fair enough.

@yochananmarqos: This package is always safe to upgrade since it has no versioned MATE dependencies. It is completely standalone.

@tari01: Why are you updating to 1.28.0 already? None of the MATE packages in the repo have been updated yet including mate-common and mate-panel that this depends on.

@tari01: Ah, I see. Sorry for the noise then.

@yochananmarqos: I automatically update packages as soon as there is a new release (this one changed to 1.27.0 in the AUR on 2022-11-11). I have made changes to the PKGBUILD since then, but I keep the pkgrel to 1 so as not to trigger an update for people who have it already installed. This is perhaps why you thought it was upgraded just now :)

@tari01: As far I know, even numbers are stable releases and odd numbers are development releases. Either way, I'm curious why you just now updated to 1.27.0 when it was tagged last November.

@yochananmarqos: mate-indicator-applet 1.27.0 is the latest official release of the package. It works with MATE 1.26.

@tari01: Isn't MATE 1.27.0 a development version?

@tari01

Thanks! That clear things up for me :) I did find some minor issues along the way which I have made comments about on the other packages you maintain. Thanks for your effort into packaging this!

@kalj

Install the Ayatana stack and mate-indicator-applet from here, reboot, add Indicator Applet Complete to the panel.
