Agreed with @Anonymous. "ubuntu-mate-settings" is not required in the PKGBUILD. Here is a PKGBUILD for mate-tweak 21.04.3 version.

commented on 2020-10-27 13:08 (UTC)

The package should be separated and ubuntu-mate-settings should be optdepends. ubuntu-mate-settings is not required for mate-tweak.

The part that comes from ubuntu-mate-settings is not working.

It is now in the wonderful andontie-aur. if u wish to only use packaged install.

Trent commented on 2019-07-09 17:52 (UTC)

Hello, marco-compton doesn't work with the latest compton because of changed/deprecated options in compton.

Here is a new PKGBUILD with some sed statements to get marco-compton working again.

marco-compton is hardware-accelerated desktop and you should be able to enable it with gsettings set org.mate.session.required-components windowmanager 'marco-compton'

Kind Regards, Trent

As a heads up, you'll need to add python-distro to the list of dependencies or it'll crash on startup with the following error: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'distro'

I installed all the optional pkgs except topmenu-gtk because I use vala-panel-appmenu-mate-git instead. There's still only two layouts in the panel section from the mate-tweak tool. Checking the /usr/share/mate-panel/layouts/ directory, all the layouts are there but not display by the mate-tweak.

mate-tweak --layout mutiny did change the layout successfully. So, it's the layouts are only compatible with ubuntu?

Hi @jonathon,

I installed the optionals packages for the differents panel layout of mate-tweak. When I lunch mate-tweak, I have only GNOME2 and Fedora panels available. How to show thes others pnael layout ?

Thank's you, Benjamin

The new version works.

Was getting

mate-tweak Window Manager is: marco-no-composite

(mate-tweak:3577): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema 'org.mate.interface' does not contain a key named 'gtk-shell-shows-menubar' fish: “mate-tweak” terminated by signal SIGTRAP (Trace or breakpoint trap)

jonathon commented on 2018-01-25 13:00 (UTC)

@flv That bug report doesn't seem to refer to a failure when running the application? namcap doesn't report any missing dependencies.

flv commented on 2018-01-23 18:43 (UTC) (edited on 2018-01-23 18:58 (UTC) by flv)

There's probably some dependency missing, because it doesn't run; same error:

MATE-Tweak moved to Github, can you update the source link?

ThanosApostolou commented on 2017-05-20 11:14 (UTC)

Does it work for you with the new versions (17.10.x)? I tried to build for Manjaro, but even if it builds ok, when I try to switch pane layouts then it crashes and it gives this message on terminal: (mate-tweak:1759): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema 'org.mate.interface' does not contain a key named 'gtk-shell-shows-menubar' Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)

Feel free to yourself. I've disowned it.

FredBezies commented on 2017-03-28 09:26 (UTC)

You need to modify it to make it work with mate 1.18. Replacing : depends=('gtk3' 'libnotify' 'mate-applets-gtk3' 'python-configobj' 'python-gobject' 'python-psutil' 'python-setproctitle') by depends=('gtk3' 'libnotify' 'mate-applets' 'python-configobj' 'python-gobject' 'python-psutil' 'python-setproctitle') and in optdepends : mate-netbook-gtk3 by mate-netbook

fusion809 commented on 2016-10-14 01:32 (UTC)

If you'd rather a GTK2 version you can use my new package, mate-tweak-gtk2.

chetgurevitch commented on 2016-08-08 22:43 (UTC)

The program won't run without python-setproctitle installed; it should be added as a dependency.

City-busz commented on 2016-08-08 11:03 (UTC)

I decided to depend on mate gtk3. If you want to use mate gtk2, then replace mate-applets-gtk3 with mate-applets in dependencies.

drws commented on 2016-08-08 10:58 (UTC)

The latest version of the package (16.10.4-1) needs mate-applets-gtk3, which is in conflict with mate-applets (if the GTK2 version of mate-desktop is used). pacaur output looks like: :: Starting AUR upgrade... :: resolving dependencies... :: looking for inter-conflicts... :: libmateweather-gtk3 and libmateweather are in conflict (libmateweather). Cupertino is available too if plank (or docky) is installed.

raonyguimaraes commented on 2016-02-26 17:04 (UTC) (edited on 2016-02-26 17:04 (UTC) by raonyguimaraes)

What about the Cupertino layout ?

City-busz commented on 2016-02-26 04:50 (UTC)

Now I added some more panel layouts from the Ubuntu MATE project. E.g. you can switch to the new Mutiny layout ( ) after installing mate-applet-dock and topmenu-gtk.

nightside commented on 2016-02-23 19:45 (UTC)

Works very well thank you!

City-busz commented on 2016-02-21 12:32 (UTC)

Fixed in mate-tweak 3.5.6-1.

python-psutil is also needed : mate-tweak Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/mate-tweak", line 28, in <module> import psutil ImportError: No module named 'psutil'
