The package should be separated and ubuntu-mate-settings should be optdepends. ubuntu-mate-settings is not required for mate-tweak. https://pastebin.com/ujb26jta
The part that comes from ubuntu-mate-settings is not working.

Hello, marco-compton doesn't work with the latest compton because of changed/deprecated options in compton.
Here is a new PKGBUILD with some sed statements to get marco-compton working again. https://pastebin.com/raw/Vdr9KuWC
marco-compton is hardware-accelerated desktop and you should be able to enable it with
gsettings set org.mate.session.required-components windowmanager 'marco-compton'
Kind Regards, Trent

As a heads up, you'll need to add
python-distro
to the list of dependencies or it'll crash on startup with the following error:ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'distro'

I installed all the optional pkgs except
topmenu-gtk
because I usevala-panel-appmenu-mate-git
instead. There's still only two layouts in the panel section from the mate-tweak tool. Checking the/usr/share/mate-panel/layouts/
directory, all the layouts are there but not display by the mate-tweak.mate-tweak --layout mutiny
did change the layout successfully. So, it's the layouts are only compatible with ubuntu?alan1world commented on 2018-06-22 18:57

@flv That bug report doesn't seem to refer to a failure when running the application?
namcap
doesn't report any missing dependencies.flv commented on 2018-01-23 18:43
There's probably some dependency missing, because it doesn't run; same error: https://github.com/Antergos/antergos-packages/issues/214
