The package refuses to build; makepkg complains that the target "python2-mpmath" is not found.

added python2-gmpy as dependency I also added a patch which fixes some python->python2 issues and let us install initialize.py to /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/mathics_initialize.py

The package should depend on python2-gmpy: pkg_resources.DistributionNotFound: gmpy>=1.04

updated to version 0.5 I have some problems with this version using the web-interface, the CLI works fine though. In the web-interface I got "[Math Processing Error]" for every input, but changing the Math Renderer to SVG fixed the issue for me

Having to edit initialize.py has been fixed upstream and won't be required for the new version v0.5 coming out soon (hopefully this week).

@mefistofeles Try replacing subprocess.call(['python', 'mathics/manage.py', 'syncdb', '--noinput'] with subprocess.call(['python2', 'mathics/manage.py', 'syncdb', '--noinput'] in initialize.py. That fixed it for me.

@mefistofeles according to mathics.org: To initialize your local Mathics server, run python initialize.py as the user who you want to execute Mathics with (usually not as root). I don't know if and how I can do this directly in the PKGBUILD @sn6uv: You are right python2-distribute is a dependency

sn6uv commented on 2012-06-05 09:41 (UTC)

I think python2-distribute should be added as a dependency.

Btw, in text mode (runnin "mathics" alone) it's working.

Not working, all I get is the next message in the web interface (for whatever I try). "Sorry, an error occured while processing your request!" Nothing "weird" on terminal (no warnings or error msgs). Any ideas?
