Yes. Adding -fPIC, when compiling not linking, fixes it for me.

Can I see the full output? If libmebi builds then the other two Makefiles should be able to find it with "-L../libmebi".

Fails to build: /sbin/ld: cannot find -lmebi collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status make[1]: *** [Makefile:7: all] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory '/var/tmp/yaourt-tmp-felics/aur-mebitag/src/mebitag-0.4/mebiview' make: *** [Makefile:45: all] Error 2 ==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
