This package is in the process of being renamed.

Yup - looks much better. Thank you!
Comment by DaBungalow
I just pushed an update that should take care of those problems. Thanks for the feedback!
Comment by puithove
I was taking a look at the install script because of the excruciatingly slow "fixing permissions" step. I see that you have it doing a chown on /var/lib each time. Do you think this is really necessary? Couldn't the installer just set the ownership once when the dir is created (move it inside the if for the dir check).
I understand why it may be necessary to run it for /usr/lib each time as those files are updated by the package on re-install. The ones under /var/lib shouldn't need it though I wouldn't think, and those are much more numerous.
Once you've had the server running for a while, the number of files under there gets quite large and it can take a long time.
Comment by puithove
Sorry - ignore the out of date flag. Just realized the release announcement was for BETA.
Comment by DaBungalow
Thanks for auditing me puithove.
It sounds like I hadn't pushed the latest fixes to the package yet. My bad. *sheepish grin*
Comment by puithove
Yea, looks better now, though I was just looking at the files and haven't rebuilt a package yet to test. I see you renamed the .conf file to match - I was going to mention that too but thought it might be a bit nit-picky since the PKGBUILD was renaming it anyway :)
Thanks, just getting around to trying out MB to see if I want to move over to it.
Comment by DaBungalow
The package has received an update to fix some problems with the scripts. Hopefully, those are it.
Comment by DaBungalow
Not sure why the script still pointed to /usr/lib/mediabrowser-server-beta. I thought I had fixed that one in the latest update.
I did need to change the home directory for the mediabrowser user. Thanks for catching that.
Comment by puithove
Also in the install script, mediabrowser user gets created with home directory of "/var/lib/mediabrowser" but it looks like this should be "/var/lib/mediabrowser-server"
Comment by puithove
mediabrowser-server script points to /usr/lib/mediabrowser-server-beta but the install goes to /usr/lib/mediabrowser-server. Script needs to be updated for this package.
$MONO_EXECUTABLE /usr/lib/mediabrowser-server-beta/MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe -programdata $PROGRAM_DATA -ffmpeg $FFMPEG -ffprobe $FFPROBE

By the way, if you really want to help with testing ARM devices yyou can help at the MediaBrowser forums. mediabrowser.tv/community
Comment by DaBungalow
I am not sure I want to add ARM to the package yet. The next release is going to remove the packaged sqlite. If it still works after the next release, I will then add ARM to the package architectures.
Comment by gps1539
Installed successfully on ARM cuboxiPro4
I simply editted the PKGBUILD file and added armv7h to the arch= line
arch=('i686' 'x86_64' 'armv7h')
So far mediabrowser-server is running very well
Thanks for putting this package together
Comment by DaBungalow
I updated the packages for the incorrect md5sum. It should work now.
Comment by archtux
First md5sum is wrong, must be 'ea820e68ecec76736993972883c2efe7'.
Comment by DaBungalow
This is an early port of Media Browser to Linux and I am not on the dev team. If you really want to know why MB3 requires those packages, you should ask on the forums. http://mediabrowser.tv/community/

Just as a note, for build 3.0.5244.2182-1, it appears that Media Browser is throwing an error right off the bat. Simply deleting /var/opt/mediabrowser-server seems to fix it.
