Hello @Krisque!

Unfortunately I am swamped with work and didn't have time for that task and I don't have it scheduled.

Honestly I think this particular package isn't much important by itself because it just make life a little easier for a very small amount of people. You are just the second person I know who have any interest of it =)

The main reason me doing this is just to gain some experience.

Could you tell me why are you interested in that package? Do you know that you can just download the game from the official site, unpack it somewhere, make a *.desktop file to launch and just play it with no more touching?

Can I help with anything to speed up this process?

What kind of help do you have in mind?

Feel free to email me if you think that it would be more appropriate to answer these questions by email.

Hello, have you made any progress? Can I help with anything to speed up this process?

The problem is, that I install the game in the /opt/medivia directory and the owner is root. But it runs as user and therefore it have no rights to modify itself in self-updating process.

I could run the game as root, but I don't think it is appropriate to run any game as root. I could set current user as owner, but I don't think that it is appropriate to set the owner as current user either because it will not be editable for other users.

The only way I see to combine self-updating approach and package manager approach is to make some wrapper (launcher) package, that will download and install the game in the location choosed by user. The main purpose of the package would be installation/uninstallation of the game including creation/deletion of *.desktop files.

I'll try to make such launcher, but I can't give you any prognoses yet.

they changed the client. I think if you download the most recent version and rebuild the package it will work for a very long time.

There is auto-updating functionality added to the client since the last builded version. At this time I don't really know how to deal with it. I'll try to do something about it but it will take some time and the chances are that I'll drop the idea of the making package at all.

I rebuilded it, but I faced with the error at start:

medivia: error while loading shared libraries: libfmod.so.11: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

So I need some time to figure that out.

upd: Done. The detailes could be found in the PKGBUILD changes.
