@lmassa: Thank you. Yes, the upstream package recently got some new dependencies on Qt5. I've added them to the PKGBUILD.

Dear @rpanerai, it seems that the latest version requires libQt5Quick.so.5, which is part of the qt5-declarative package. Could you consider adding this to the dependencies?

Thanks @EmberQuill - that worked well. I first tried to downgrade icu package. That failed due to various dependencies. icu73-bin package does the job :)

@PeterRies Unfortunately megasync-bin uses a precompiled binary straight from Mega's own official repo. So this probably won't get an update until Mega updates it.

Installing icu73-bin from the AUR seems like a decent workaround for now, until upstream updates their binary.

I get an error 'error while loading shared libraries: libicuuc.so.73' with this package due to an update to 'icu' package to 74... yesterday.

Using megasync package with compiling works. So I guess this megasync-bin just needs a recompile

@wolfjb: My aim is to keep in sync with the official repository and there (at the time of writing) the package is still stuck at version 4.9.6-2.

It might make sense in the future to host our own repository, just to avoid temporary breakage of this AUR package every time there is a new upstream release.

But at the same time, for obvious security reasons, I cannot pull from a random MEGA folder. Who owns it? That package does not even come with its signature file.

EDIT:

With apologies, I seem to be on the early adopters list and that is why I was offered the link from Mega to upgrade to the newer version. I thought I was being helpful. I guess nevermind me.

@Neurognostic thanks, don't understand why they deleted it, even with a comment about the link working...
