@electricprism, this is a -git package. When you run makepkg, the version will automagically be updated to match the one in Git master--which, right now, would be "12.1.0_devel.82376.f39439d-1".
electricprism commented on 2016-06-07 22:34 (UTC)
So with Mesa 12 getting into RC will we be getting that? Or are we already getting Mesa 12 and the version number just needs to be bumped from 11.3 up? Curious.

I've added libpthread-stubs as make dependency for now, but there are other solutions.
Will post in the forum mesa-git thread about this.

configure: error: Package requirements (pthread-stubs) were not met
Needs libpthread-stubs from AUR to compile.
kerberizer commented on 2016-05-23 22:42 (UTC)
Hm, it seems that after this commit we need to pull in libpthread-stubs...
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/commit/?id=1f4869a2089c6172feff382e177d74ac68c241a7
Otherwise, configure complains that "Package requirements (pthread-stubs) were not met: No package 'pthread-stubs' found". Not sure if there isn't another solution.

Ah I changed that locally and didn't update the AUR. Now it should work. They changed something in their configure script so --with-vulkan-icddir does something very weird now, but when removing --with-vulkan-icddir from the configure options, it does the right thing now.

Mesa master is supposed to be built against LLVM trunk, so I'm not sure if that wouldn't be an overkill and too much burden on Lone_Wolf. These compat changes happen fairly often, mainly because of Clover. Perhaps a sticky comment with a reminder to always build against latest LLVM trunk might be enough?
yurikoles commented on 2016-04-30 08:10 (UTC)
Last error was solved by upgrading llvm-svn.
Consider putting svn rev in deps.

removed obsolete options, build now works again.
building opencl clover is disabled for now, see https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/11863
Those that need opencl should use rusticl instead. Note that rusticl at runtime is disabled by default, see https://docs.mesa3d.org/envvars.html#rusticl-environment-variables for info about enabling it.

Mesa and llvm are closely tied together. Everytime the llvm mesa is built against changes/updates , mesa needs to be rebuilt.
I expect anyone building mesa-git against one of the llvm trunk variants to be able to do that themselves, but atleast some of the people that built against repo llvm don't understand how to deal with such a rebuild.
The rest of this post is meant for those people.
Option A - best one
see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DeveloperWiki:Building_in_a_clean_chroot for the official way or https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/clean-chroot-manager for an alternative method.
Option B - 2nd best

WARNING : aur helpers don't support this method at all. They check .SRCINFO and that doesn't include this variable so it will use the default which is hardcoded to build against repo llvm.
Why would I want to use llvm development versions ?
