Unfortunatly I am unable to login and it get stuck in a login loop where verification of account efter entering login details results in messenger opening in the main browser instead of the webapp.

Consider adding StartupWMClass=facebookmessenger-nativefier-7ab88e to the .desktop-file to make sure the app associates with the app starter for DEs such as gnome. Otherwise it'll show up as a new icon on launch.

The login process goes into a loop of "verification of login" through the browser.
