there's multilib/lib32-fakeroot in the official repos

Microchip's installers are 32-bit which makes it necessary to download a 32-bit version of fakeroot on 64-bit machines.

It is possible to use this as a standalone by writing your own makefiles instead of using mplabx ide.

is mplabx needed with this package or can this work as an stand-alone

I ran some tests yesterday and noticed that the installer appears to behave differently on two of my computers. This is likely what's causing the build failure since the file that contains the response inputs for the installer can't adapt to these changes. I'll see if I can find a reasonable workaround.

Edit the PKGBUILD and on line 32 change /dev/null to ../log Run makepkg and once it finishes there should be a file called log in the same directory as the PKGBUILD file. Put the log file in a pastebin and post the link here and I'll see what I can do.
