@the_z0id That should be fixed now if you try again. Thanks for letting me know.

@NickGeek

Hello. Since recently, trying to update or reinstall micropad I get an error message:

Packages failed to build: micropad-3.27.1-1

And checking source files with md5sums:

micropad-3.27.1.pacman ... failed

Any suggestions for a fix are welcome. Thanks in advance.

@yochananmarqos Thanks! I'll sort that out this weekend.

@Tio Yeah, that has been an ongoing issue. I don't use a DE with desktop icons so it's pretty hard to test when it breaks if anyone has any ideas on how to fix that a PR to upstream on https://github.com/MicroPad/Electron would be really welcome.

So you know in Gnome there is no icon for the Dock and you cannot add the application to your favourite applications ;)

The install file is completely unnecessary. Symlinking can be done in the package() array and binaries should be installed to /usr/bin/, not /usr/local/bin/.

This is all micropad-bin needs to contain, see Electron package guidelines:

#!/bin/sh
electron --asar /opt/µPad/resources/app.asar "$@"

Since you're using the system electron package, you don't need the bundled Electron files. Only the resources folder is required.

package() {
    install -dm755 "$pkgdir/opt/µPad"
    cp -a opt/µPad/resources "$pkgdir/opt/µPad/"
    cp -a usr "$pkgdir/usr"

    # Use system electron
    install -Dm755 "$pkgname-bin" "$pkgdir/opt/µPad/$pkgname"

    # Link to the binary
    install -dm755 "$pkgdir/usr/bin"
    ln -sf /opt/µPad/micropad "$pkgdir/usr/bin/$pkgname"
}

MicroPad now uses the community electron so the issues are resolved.

Looks like the latest glibc causes this to crash on load: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/slack-desktop/?comments=all
