So I updated like the rest of you and I got a seg fault. Then I decided to install microsoft-edge-dev aur even though it is out of date and it didn't seg fault. So then I decided to try running the beta version of edge again and now it works. Even after I rebooted my system it still works.

I get a segmentation fault after the systems update.

@SamLukeYes @Vedun Sorry. Someone flagged this as out of date

SamLukeYes commented on 2021-07-14 17:14 (UTC)

I can't reproduce your issue. This package works fine for me, with the latest systemd.

Vedun commented on 2021-07-14 16:56 (UTC)

Strange, but Google Chrome works fine with a new systemd.

Tried packages deb and rpm Edge - do not work, tried to roll back Edge - the same is useless ... (

@SamLukeYes, i wanted to ask the same question - what does the obsolete have to do with it?

SamLukeYes commented on 2021-07-14 16:40 (UTC)

Why is this flagged out of date? I don't see a new version in https://packages.microsoft.com/repos/edge/pool/main/m/microsoft-edge-beta/.

Vedun commented on 2021-07-14 14:00 (UTC)

Only rollback to 248-3 of these two packages helps:
sudo downgrade systemd systemd-libs

and reboot

angelettif commented on 2021-07-14 12:50 (UTC)

Downgrading edge doesn't fix it?

@yotsuba: You can also use the downgrade script

yotsuba commented on 2021-07-13 15:18 (UTC)

I was with the same issue here... but now it works.

Go to: https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/s/systemd/ and download: systemd-248.3-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

Then, go to: https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/s/systemd-libs/ and download: systemd-libs-248-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

In your download directory, open a terminal and run the following:

sudo pacman -U systemd-248.3-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst systemd-libs-248-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

Reboot and enjoy.
