Please note that this package builds Mindustry from the latest source code. If you wish to build a specific release, make sure to add something like "#tag=v108" to the git repository in the sources array, or use one of the Mindustry packages by dmitmel.

Can we change .desktop file to call Exec=mindustry-git instead of /usr/bin/mindustry-git, and the main executable to call java instead of /usr/bin/java ? This is the preferred way I think. The user might want to override the binaries in e.g. /usr/local/bin, and it makes sense to allow it. Also, this is how all other .desktop behave as far as I see. Thanks for the package!

I updated the package to require JRE and JDK version 8 exactly, hopefully fixing the "Could not find tools.jar." issue. Unsure if a newer JRE would also work for just running the game, but I'll keep it simple, as it is required for building according to the README.

With java-12-openjdk, it does not work. with java-8-openjdk, it works

Anyone running into the "Could not find tools.jar." error, please let me know which version of Java/JDK you were using. Perhaps that allows me to narrow down the make requirements to avoid this for other users. Thank you!

$ java -version
openjdk version "1.8.0_222"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_222-b05)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.222-b05, mixed mode)

I have fixed the issue by installing jdk8-openjdk

Starting a Gradle Daemon (subsequent builds will be faster) No local.properties found. Not loading Android module. > Task :annotations:compileJava FAILED FAILURE: Build failed with an exception. * What went wrong: Execution failed for task ':annotations:compileJava'. > Could not find tools.jar. Please check that /usr/lib/jvm/java-8-openjdk/jre contains a valid JDK installation.
