As the previous maintainer has been MIA for over 2.5 years as of time of writing, I've taken over maintaining this package, and have updated it to latest commit.

@thrasibule: I encountered that the up to date minizip 2-version (2.8.x) does not work for linphone-desktop-git. So I also created minizip2-2.3.3, now linphone-desktop-git compiles for me. Instructions on how to use it I commented at linphone-desktop-git.

Actually this doesn't compile. That's why I downloaded a specific commit in the source. Upstream uses their own version of minizip2 which is basically just minizip2 from this commit plus some packaging changes, see here: https://gitlab.linphone.org/BC/public/external/minizip. We can create a minizip2-bc package which would only be used by linphone-desktop, or you fix the version in minizip2-git. Either way I like your changes which allow to install it in parallel with minizip already in the tree.

Created minizip2-git: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages/minizip2-git/ which does not conflict with minizip. linphone-desktop-git can now depend on minizip2, with 

      -DMINIZIP_INCLUDE_DIRS=/usr/include/minizip2 \
      -DMINIZIP_LIBRARIES=/usr/lib/minizip2/libminizip.so \

  • Please ad a pkgdesc.
  • According to the name, the newest version from the git repository will be checked out. But in the source-array, you check out a specific commit. Can you change the one or the other?
  • Since it is not compatible to minizip, and the major version is different (2 here, 1 in minizip), I suggest to name this package minizip2 or minizip2-git. This also reflects more clearly the incompatibility.
  • To be able to install it side by side with minizip, I did compile with the following additional options to cmake:
        -DCMAKE_INSTALL_LIBDIR=lib/minizip2 \
        -DCMAKE_INSTALL_INCLUDEDIR=include/minizip2 \
        -DCMAKE_INSTALL_LIBEXECDIR=libexec/minizip2 \
        -DCMAKE_INSTALL_OLDINCLUDEDIR=/usr/include/minizip2 \

Could you please add libbsd as a prerequisite dependency? It seems to be needed with recent source updates of minizip.
