This should also conflict with cinnamon-sound-effects.

This package is deprecated and all the sounds are part of mint-artwork. This should conflict with it or both mint-sounds and cinnamon-sound-effects should be merged into mint-artwork.

Updated to 1.5.4 Upstream, original servers removed 1.5.3 package.

@fishnet37222, in the future, you can flag a package out-of-date.

Just an FYI. The file "mint-artwork_1.5.3.tar.xz" is no longer available on the Linux Mint servers. I had to change the version in the PKGBUILD to "1.5.4" in order to get the package to install.

Be kind, this is my first AUR.

This is best installed before configuring a new installation. I debated whether to add the resets to force immediate changes, but I didn't want anyone to lose any configurations by accident. Instead, I'll post some helpful commands below. Note that this package overrides /etc/lightdm/lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf used by lightdm-gtk-greeter.

I recommend the following for a better Cinnamon experience (warning: the following resets many Cinnamon settings to their Mint defaults):

sudo touch /usr/share/backgrounds/linuxmint/default_background.jpg
sudo gsettings reset-recursively org.cinnamon
gsettings reset-recursively org.cinnamon
sudo systemctl restart lightdm

If you wish to go even further, I'd recommend (please be careful, some of this you may not want and some of this may not be relevant to your distro):

hicolor-icon-theme mint-themes mint-themes-legacy mint-x-icons mint-y-icons mint-backgrounds gconf-gtk2 mintstick mintlocale linuxmint-keyring drawing folder-color-switcher gimp gparted hexchat pix redshift-git simple-scan timeshift warpinator-git lightdm-settings lightdm-slick-greeter gnome-disk-utility gnome-screenshot

This package does not need a pkgbase; it's not a split package.

There is no point in this package having a pkgbase variable; as it's not a split package.

I able to install using the link I posted below by: (USE AT YOUR OWN RISK)

Use git to clone dir, navigate to dir in Nemo(etc) that you cloned too, open PKGBUILD and modify line 6 'pkgver=5.5' to 'pkgver=5.7', then open .SRCINFO and modify line 5 'pkgver=5.5' to 'pkgver=5.7' and line 10 so the link points to "https://ftp.fau.de/mint/packages/pool/main/m/mint-artwork-cinnamon/mint-artwork-cinnamon_5.7.tar.gz

Now use makepkg -si --skipinteg --skipchecksums and it should install.

Link is dead, correct link is /mint-artwork-common_2.1.8.tar.gz.

This is how I installed using new link: (USE AT YOUR OWN RISK)

Use git to clone dir, navigate to dir in Nemo(etc) that you cloned too, open PKGBUILD and modify line 6 'pkgver=2.1.7' to 'pkgver=2.1.8', then open .SRCINFO and modify line 5 'pkgver=2.1.7' to 'pkgver=2.1.8' and line 10 so the link points to "https://ftp.fau.de/mint/packages/pool/main/m/mint-artwork-common/mint-artwork-common_2.1.8.tar.gz"

Now use makepkg -si --skipinteg --skipchecksums and it should install.
