A couple of things related to this package:

  • The app was created with Linux Mint in mind, so there are some things that might be handled differently on Arch; you can check the "Locale" or "Internationalization" articles on the wiki for more information. Please also keep that in mind before posting bugs here
  • From version 1.5.0, on some desktops and menus, it still appears the "Input Method" access despite the removal on this package, it is useless on Arch and if you wish you can remove it manually using menulibre, alacarte or some other similar program (it is useless because, again, things are handled differently in Arch than Linux Mint, which is where the program is mainly aimed for)

Any problems, bugs or issues usage, you can report it to upstream via its Github page

Doesn't work, when I try to launch mintlocale from the commandline I get

User language in .dmrc: None
User language in $LANG: it_IT.UTF-8
Current language: it_IT.UTF-8
Current region: it_IT.UTF-8
Current time: it_IT.UTF-8

EDIT: It works if I install python-cairo

Can't install it. Getting:

patching file usr/lib/linuxmint/mintlocale/im.py
Hunk #1 FAILED at 1.
Hunk #2 FAILED at 14.
Hunk #3 FAILED at 37.

EDIT: Seems the yay cache was the problem. I uninstalled it, cleared yay cache and reinstalled. Success.

@toxin: this "issue" is gonna be like that on Arch, because the add and remove buttons only works for Linux Mint, on my pinned comments I explained that the only option is to select upon the available locales previously enabled

toxin commented on 2020-01-13 05:13 (UTC)

Add/remove buttons missing. :(

@Sam-Burgos Added missing package - works now.

Santi-Burgos commented on 2017-06-27 15:23 (UTC)

@SunRed: interesting, was not expecting that to happen actually, I am running Antergos which actually has that package (it's named iso-flag-png), I am trying to look for the PKGBUILD so I can post it here as dependency but I haven't had any luck so far in finding it, if you can catch it either from Antergos or Manjaro I would appreciate it so I can publish it as well

SunRed commented on 2017-06-20 22:39 (UTC)

By testing the package now it asks for "/usr/share/iso-flag-png/_generic.png" that Arch does not have. Afaik Linux Mint uses a separate flags package containing all these files. Manjaro does have it packages and in its repos. How did you manage to run it without an error? Traceback: https://pastebin.com/63unaqWZ

@Sam-Burgos Yes, I was a bit busy and forgot to answer but I read your email and added you for now. Cheers.
