The current git version of this package currently have a lot more dependencies than the ones specified in your package. The 0.8.* currently depends on these new packages: python2-pyopenssl python2-pyasn1 python-imaging python2-lxml python2-netlib 0.2.2-1 also seems to be uncompatible with this version of mitmproxy, because the «libmproxy/proxy.py» file tries to import the certutils library, which does not contains "CertStore" object anymore; === python2-netlib@mitmproxy-git bug === ~$ mitmproxy Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/mitmproxy", line 46, in <module> config = proxy.process_proxy_options(parser, options) File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/libmproxy/proxy.py", line 579, in process_proxy_options authenticator = authenticator File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/libmproxy/proxy.py", line 49, in __init__ self.certstore = certutils.CertStore(certdir) AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'CertStore'

It seems to depend on the netlib library noadays: ImportError: No module named netlib

As customary for git pkgbuilds, please add conflicts=(mitmproxy) And also depends=(... python2-urwid) as daurnimator already reported.

urwid dependancy is for wrong python version; need python2-urwid.
