Moneydance will not start due to java implementation issue. The easiest solution is to install jdk (the one from Oracle) from AUR, and change the default to it with "archlinux-java set java-8-jdk" (as root). Afterwards, Moneydance should work as designed.

I have the same issue where this will not work and just hangs when launched from the Terminal. I went on to the website and used the installation script there (just had to modify the permissions of /etc/.java/.systemprefs to get it to install properly) and after it installed it launched from ~/moneydance fine.

I can't seem to get this working. I've installed it and it just sits there hanging on the command line. Any advice?

A new version had been released, updated the PKGBUILD - all should be well now; and extra fresh.

Package is not wanting to validate before building, at least on my system. ==> Validating source files with sha256sums... Moneydance_linux_amd64.tar.gz ... FAILED ==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check! ==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build moneydance.
