@l337 regarding the saving connections bug, you have to install the gone-keyring package on your system for the saved connections to show up in the gui.

I'm getting this error with 1.29.5-1 error: could not extract /usr/lib/mongodb-compass/MongoDB Compass (Truncated zstd input)
.

this package works fine, but it doesn't save the last connections, it doesn't save aggregate either, it seems that it has a bug related to saving content

I'm having the same "Running Migrations" problem. Waiting for an update to 1.28.1 which hopefully fixes the issue, though I do see upstream still considers this an open issue: https://jira.mongodb.org/projects/COMPASS/issues/COMPASS-4939
UPDATE: I can confirm the issue is fixed in 1.28.1.

I am also seeing the freezing issue at "running migrations". Opening the DevTools shows the error Cannot find module '/usr/lib/mongodb-compass/resources/app.asar/node_modules/mongodb/lib/index.js'
. Looks like either a node package is missing or it's not a dependency anymore but still an import.
Edit: Updating to 1.28.1 fixes this problem.

I have the same problem, suddenly it started to hang at the "running migrations" stage. I have keyring installed.

Since the latest update a few days I'm back at the "running migrations" freeze. Any ideas?

@dpeukert sorry for delay, I forgot complety reply, do you want co-maintain this package and do mongodb-compass
and mongodb-compass-bin
?
dpeukert commented on 2021-04-18 11:50 (UTC)
@ogarcia: There actually is, the mongodb-compass-isolated
and mongodb-compass-readonly
(and their corresponding beta packages) I maintain are built from source, as opposed to the mongodb-compass-isolated-bin
and mongodb-compass-readonly-bin
packages, which use the prebuilt binary like this package does. It's up to you if you would want to maintain both mongodb-compass
and mongodb-compass-bin
, but IMHO @k0r0ng is right regarding the renaming.
ogarcia commented on 2021-03-23 14:24 (UTC)
@k0r0ng no, because there is not "not-bin" alternative. See Teams or Slack Desktop for example
