If you're upgrading to v47 from a previous version of this icon theme, it will break your custom assigned folder icons because the folder structure of the theme has changed. Simply reassign your custom folder icons.

@That1Calculator
I haven't lied once in this whole story. Check my comment below, posted on 2024-09-22 16:51 (BST), where I said there were breaking changes coming and asked you whether you'd be ready to make quick changes.

You are totally inverting the situation you created yourself.
You could've disowned the package when I first asked you to instead of lecturing me about abandoning projects and trying to teach me lessons while falsely accusing me of lies along the way. No worries. Life will teach you the right lessons one way or another as you grow up. Happens to everyone. This one was an easy opportunity for you to learn something, but you've obviously missed it. When you don't learn, though, each next try becomes harder. I sincerely hope you don't get to the really hard ones. Best of luck in your future endeavours.

@somepaulo stop lying. I have no emails or GitHub pings from you, no communication at all. I even have release notifications on for your repository, and there were no mentions of breaking changes to packaging. It appears you are acting entirely in bad faith – I suggest you stop sabatoging your own project and alienating your community out of spite.

I will be disowning this package and disabling notifications, given you clearly have some personal vendetta against me. I hope the best for you going forward, and maybe you can look back on this in the future and learn from your mistakes.

@That1Calculator

I did tell you before that breaking changes were coming, and I did ask you whether you'd be willing to quickly change the package if/when that hapens. You didn't care to even reply. The folder structure has changed to match Adwaita. There's a note about it at the start of readme in the repo. Haven't you seen it?

Since I'm an Arch user and I develop MoreWaita on Arch, I need a reliable way of testing my work on a live system. The git package is the only way. I had to create a new package since you were not immediately available when I pushed the changes.

While dusansimic was maintaining this package and contributing to MoreWaita, he was actually collaborating (see point 7 of AUR maintainer's guidelines), not causing problems like you have been recently. Your insistence on keeping my project hostage on AUR is what actually looks like spite, not to mention immaturity.

That1Calculator commented on 2024-10-18 11:06 (UTC)

@somepaulo would you mind telling me what those changes are? Also, your package is a duplicate of what this is – it seems to me you're doing this out of spite and immaturity.

Upstream changes in v47 break this package. It needs a new PKGBUILD. And even with it, it may fail to upgrade. I've created a new package, morewaita-icon-theme-git. From now on, it is the upstream recommended way of installing MoreWaita (git) on Arch.

@That1Calculator I was not the original maintainer of the AUR packages. It was @dusansimic, an early co-developer of MoreWaita and a well-known developer in his own right. He did not tell me when he orphaned the packages, and I did not notice they had been orphaned until you switched sources. I have picked up the release based morewaita AUR package since.

What reasons do you have to holding on to this package? Will you be contributing to MoreWaita upstream? Are you willing to collaborate closely and quickly, in the spirit of packaging guideline 7, in case of possible breakages caused by the upcoming refactoring in the next few days, like quickly changing the source to a backup branch and back?

@Muflone fair enough. Removed the comment, I'll keep both this original and NeoWaita (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/neowaita-git) maintained.

somepaulo commented on 2024-09-22 15:40 (UTC)

@Muflone Sure, of course, sorry.

@That1Calculator I asked that because you changed the links from morewaita to neowaita, while the package was still called morewaita. If you intend to keep this package along with neowaita-git, then please remove the erroneous messages about being superseded by NeoWaita as this is a fork, not a replacement package from the same author and now the original project is still maintained
