Is this version 32 bit architecture? I am looking for the Arch equivalent of mpich:i386 for Ubuntu...

I had linker errors with gfortran-10. Tried building with gfortran-8 and it worked. I don't use this any more, so I don't even know if the build is good.

The build currently fails:

checking whether gfortran allows mismatched arguments... no
configure: error: The Fortran compiler gfortran will not compile files that call the same routine with arguments of different types.

While this was true for mpich and is now fixed there, the problem remains for mpich2. My suspicion: it is related to gcc-fortran 10.

Seems like all git links are 404 on AUR. Tarball link still works (https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/snapshot/mpich2.tar.gz), and in this case will give you exactly what's in the git repo, because I haven't updated it since moving to AUR4.

in the .profile file, the export MANPATH=$MANPATH:/opt/mpich2/share/man` line should not be here. mandb figures out man pages path by itself from the PATH variable. Default arch .profile files also do not add anything to MANPATH, so setting it to $MANPATH:/opt/... actually only removes / overrides default search path behavior which is smart. Just remove the line from .install. Man pages will work
