I had problems with getting cmake to recognize the mpich package but this package seems to work with cmake (probably the fixed paths that does it that is mentioned earlier).

@ramwoolf : I launched a i686 instance of arch linux with virtualbox and was enable to replicate the error you are having. Can you give me more information such as the preceding lines before the error?

@bluerider: Error is .../cpuid.h:39: Error: symbol `Lhwloc1' is already defined Similar problem from the first post. I looked into the cpuid.h, this is asm block.

why create new? is it different then mpich in AUR?

This package conflicts with openmpi from extra.
