Thanks and done: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/perl-shell/

You forgot to migrate perl-shell to AUR4. I was going to make the PKGBUILD myself but for what I see in the aur-archive, you're the maintainer.

Glad you got it figured out. I am not upstream for this one. Bob Igo wrote this scripts years ago. You'll have to email him. I added mplayer2 to the conflicts array.

cobalt commented on 2013-04-28 07:53

Oh, I found what was the problem. I am using mplayer2 package instead of mplayer. It works ok with mplayer, I just checked. Maybe you can make it work with mplayer2 too?

mplayer-resumer foo.mkv

The content of foo.resume is always 0 for some reason. Even if I edit this file and set some other value, nothing happens, the movie starts from the beginning anyway. I know about 5 sec, so I wait for more then 5 sec.

graysky commented on 2013-04-27 22:08

1) How are you calling the script?
2) Does your user have rw access to the dir in which the video resides? The script works by writing a .foo.resume for foo.mkv for example.
3) Something else to watch for is the time in which you stop/start mplayer. If you start it in under 5 sec after stopping it, you will start again from the beginning.
