Hey would you mind adding this patch to the PKGBUILD:

Otherwise the program keeps on crashing when used with mpv (which is default, I think).

When I play audio after searching, it ends prematurely.

/usr/lib/python3.9/ RuntimeWarning: line buffering (buffering=1) isn't supported in binary mode, the default buffer size will be used self.stdout =, 'rb', bufsize)

Any idea where I can edit this?

Please add makedepends=(git) and test with devtools' makechrootpkg to catch dependencies like these. Thanks!

  2. Make the following changes to the file (lines 346 & 356):

Changing the fetch url for the git repo to in the PKGBUILD successfully builds it.

The repository now lives at See also my comment on python-pafy-git.

Any reason this packages depends on python-pafy-git, rather than python-pafy from the offical repo?

Apparently it was supposed to be an optional dependency, but had become required by accident. Fixed now.

Are you sure that you're actually talking about mpsyt? Anyway, this should also be reported upstream, argh. Edit: Ah, it does import mpris.. Edit2: Fixed, thanks.
