Fair enough. Done.

Why not uncomment that line by default and add 'youtube-dl' to optdepends?

qmega commented on 2014-10-25 18:57 (UTC)

Upstream has removed quvi support. If you want to install the replacement script which uses youtube-dl, you can just uncomment the line at the end of package(). Obviously you'll need youtube-dl installed for the script to work. There should be a lua plugin soon that allows giving mpv URLs on the command line like before.

To anyone, if you run into the following error: mpv: error while loading shared libraries: libavdevice.so.55: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Just reinstall mpv-git. Recently, `libdvdnav` was upgraded, so mpv has to be linked again.

qmega, any chance you could switch to a more descriptive pkgver in the future? I use the following in my local build: pkgver() { cd "$srcdir/$_gitname" _curtag="$(git rev-list --tags --max-count=1)" _tagver="$(git describe --tags $_curtag | sed 's:^v::')" _commits="$(git rev-list --count HEAD --since=$_tagver)" _sha="$(git rev-parse --short HEAD)" printf "%s_%s_g%s" $_tagver $_commits $_sha } Resolves to: pkgver=0.5.3_1553_g60f5e53 Credit to https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/issues/794 for the pointers.

Yeah, that dependency will definitely go away in the near-ish future. I had actually considered dropping it already and including the script in the package, but at the moment the built-in support is more convenient and still works most of the time, in my experience (though I don't use it very often). But I suppose I could go ahead and get rid of it anyway, and it would still link against quvi if it's installed at build time. Any opinions?

Sorry - I no longer have the time to maintain this package. It is now up for adoption.

Please change dependency on lua51 to lua. There were issues with mpv and libquvi linking to different versions but extra/libquvi now uses lua 5.2 (as does community/mpv).

Please enable generation of zsh completion (--enable-zsh-comp). Might also be a good idea to add the other deps/flags that were recently added to the official package.
