"As for the useless configure flags: ..." I suggest then adding missing '--disable-dsound' - just to be sure ;)

Shit, my bad. I must have made a mess of it. Carry on. That said, %cd.%h is the date and hash of the last commit. It isn't just date alone. Quite a few other packages use that format and it works fine, even if there are more than one commit in a day.

As for the useless configure flags: I just prefer specifying all I can, and listing all others as deps, so that the package is guaranteed to build the same way for everyone. For easier manual checking if all flags have been looked at, I even included the "obviously redundant" ones.

But the number of commits comes first, only then the git hash. That way, versions ARE always increasing. Using only the date may be bad if there is more than one commit on a single day.

Might want to reconsider the "0.$minorver.$microver" pkgver. A newer package can be assigned a version that pacman thinks is older than the pervious package: $ vercmp 0.541fe30.35039 0.228c3d2.35040 1 I switched to `git log -1 --format="%cd.%h" --date=short | sed 's/-/./g'` so I can provide mpv-git in my personal repo.

These are windows/macos specific auto-detected options and never fulfilled on i686/x86_64: --disable-winsock2_h --disable-direct3d --disable-macosx-bundle --disable-corevideo --disable-cocoa --disable-coreaudio Though, no harm is done... it's questionable and implies options are valid otherwise. Remove it for clarity.

You need to add '--cc=clang' to scripts/ffmpeg-config And '--disable-programs' is a good idea as well

rtfreedman commented on 2013-05-07 17:02 (UTC)

This build script uses (persistent) git repositories (ffmpeg-git, mpv-git and libass-git) located where PKGBUILD resides - clang is used by default, but can be changed to gcc easily. It is heavily commented and configured without seldom used features by default

to build with samba need: --extra-cflags="-I/usr/include/samba-4.0"
