For me the correct path to use was: https://packages.microsoft.com/rhel/8/prod/msodbcsql18-$pkgver-1.x86_64.rpm

The previous links mentioned did not work for me.

As @uhrm say, the correct path is:

https://packages.microsoft.com/rhel/8/prod/Packages/m/msodbcsql18-$pkgver-1.x86_64.rpm

With version 18.1.2.1 I get a NOT FOUND. I had to change the source URL to https://packages.microsoft.com/rhel/8/prod/Packages/m/msodbcsql18-$pkgver-1.x86_64.rpm.

Hi! how are you?

Silly question. Is there a way for coexisting on the system two different versions of this package? I would like to keep updating this package, but also, I need the v17 for a particular project.

Thank you very much!

centos updated to version 1.0.2k-19, edit PKGBUILD to avoid NOT FOUND error.

User should verify this, but for convenience sake:

sha256sum openssl-libs-1.0.2k-19.el7.x86_64.rpm

change PKGBUILD to this file to build: https://gist.github.com/hoob3rt/12f08681cde8c12d563194775d1949a9

works as of 13.10.19

I've been investigating on "08001" issues when using named instances:

Sqlcmd: Error: Microsoft ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server : Login timeout expired.
Sqlcmd: Error: Microsoft ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server : MAX_PROVS: Error Locating Server/Instance Specified [xFFFFFFFF]. .
Sqlcmd: Error: Microsoft ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server : A network-related or instance-specific error has occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. Server is not found or not accessible. Check if instance name is correct and if SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. For more information see SQL Server Books Online..

Then I updated to msodbcsql 17.4.1.1 and everything worked fine.

A patch for msodbcsql 17.4.1.1 is available here: https://gist.github.com/alessiofachechi/273a1297ada5316fba729dea6e2a2d47
