I am sorry for this question, but I am not sure about licence of this mssql server. I need free legal Express version, is it possible to use this package or I need another RPM from Microsoft? Thanks for answer.

When I try to run the setup routine, I get as far as setting a password and then it dies with the error below, so I was wondering if there is anything else I am supposed to be doing:

Confirm the SQL Server system administrator password:

If you get the following error after updating to 14.0.3076.1+ when running mssql-conf setup (taken from the log file):

TDSSNIClient initialization failed with error 0x2742, status code 0xa. Reason: Unable to initialize the TCP/IP listener. A socket operation encountered a dead network.

This seems to be an issue when ipv6 is disabled via the kernel option. To fix this either enable IPV6 or (even better) disable ipv6 via sysctl instead.

@doctorzeus Yes, it's bundled now: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/linux/sql-server-linux-setup-sql-agent

doctorzeus commented on 2018-03-03 02:52

Assuming Microsoft bundled the mssql-server-agent into the mssql-server package?

/opt/mssql/lib/sqlagent.sfp seems to now be included?

gabrielmldantas commented on 2018-01-31 14:34

@1k2ka it was removed on SQL Server 2017 RC1: https://stackoverflow.com/a/45355746

1k2ka commented on 2018-01-30 16:08

Does anyone know what happend to "/opt/mssql/bin/sqlpackage"? Has it been replaced by something else or has it been removed?

doctorzeus commented on 2017-10-03 10:08

MSSQL Server 2017 is now out of preview as of 02/10/17, I edited the pkgbuild for myself until it is updated officially.

If anyone wants a copy of this I uploaded it here:

https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjgqKvvQzQ7vgpRe7seO8YU8TCrr6A

New version is 14.0.1000.169-2.

@countercraft, I reinstalled mssql-server, mssql-tools, msodbcsql and it works fine. Thank you

gabrielmldantas commented on 2017-08-24 10:55

Hi @pkral. I didn't had mssql-tools on my system, so I installed it but I couldn't reproduce the problem. The lib directory seems equals to your system, so unfortunately I have no idea why it doesn't work for you.
