I am sorry for this question, but I am not sure about licence of this mssql server. I need free legal Express version, is it possible to use this package or I need another RPM from Microsoft? Thanks for answer.

When I try to run the setup routine, I get as far as setting a password and then it dies with the error below, so I was wondering if there is anything else I am supposed to be doing:
Confirm the SQL Server system administrator password:

If you get the following error after updating to 14.0.3076.1+ when running mssql-conf setup (taken from the log file):
TDSSNIClient initialization failed with error 0x2742, status code 0xa. Reason: Unable to initialize the TCP/IP listener. A socket operation encountered a dead network.
This seems to be an issue when ipv6 is disabled via the kernel option. To fix this either enable IPV6 or (even better) disable ipv6 via sysctl instead.

@doctorzeus Yes, it's bundled now: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/linux/sql-server-linux-setup-sql-agent
doctorzeus commented on 2018-03-03 02:52 (UTC)
Assuming Microsoft bundled the mssql-server-agent into the mssql-server package?
/opt/mssql/lib/sqlagent.sfp seems to now be included?
countercraft commented on 2018-01-31 14:34 (UTC)
@1k2ka it was removed on SQL Server 2017 RC1: https://stackoverflow.com/a/45355746
1k2ka commented on 2018-01-30 16:08 (UTC)
Does anyone know what happend to "/opt/mssql/bin/sqlpackage"? Has it been replaced by something else or has it been removed?

This current package is MSSQLServer2022.
For anyone who needs to set the compatibility level of a db to migrate to an older version, see this article:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/t-sql/statements/alter-database-transact-sql-compatibility-level?view=sql-server-ver16

NOTES ON libldap 2.4:
Yes there is a newer version in the official repos but the binaries do not run without this version which is listed in the dependencies by Microsoft.
If you have a problem compiling libldapV2.4, go and ask on that package page, not here.
You can get libldap V2.4 here from this AUR package:
