If the values of sha256sums are not correct and the version of the PKGBUILD does not match the one published in the Packages file..

DO NOT fill in the comments with new sha256sums!

In the actions of the package mark it as outdated, otherwise I do not realize it.

I'm still getting an error with the checksums that aborts the install. Although using the checksums listed at does not solve the problem. They are different from what I get if I download the multisystem.tar.bz2 file and run the checksum myself, as well as being different from what's in the pkgbuild here. Are the checksums in the pkgbuild and on the multisystem site therefore both wrong? Not sure how to solve this issue.

Solution to validating source files with sha256sums...
in / tmp, or we can also manually download from AUR where you want) and run:
makepkg -g >> PKGBUILD

and then

This creates the PKGBUILD updated with signatures and file .tar.xz that allow Pacman local installation; in the case of the example:

sudo pacman -U-1.0319-1 Multisystem-i686.pkg.tar.xz

i'm having the same error, this is what mine says
"Validating source files with sha256sums...
multisystem.tar.bz2 ... FAILED
Packages ... FAILED
==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!
==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build multisystem.
==> Restart building multisystem ? [y/N]
==> ------------------------------------"
any help would be great! Thanks!
