If you're building packages from source you should install the base-devel group. Any package in that group used for building shouldn't need to be specified in makedepends.

This package builds mutt from the development sources from the mercurial (hg) repo. http://dev.mutt.org/hg/mutt

PKGBUILD fails, if you do not already have a build directory. patch is at http://aur.pastebin.com/RjYM0zCu
