Hi @alicavus! My distro is Garuda. This latest version runs smoothly. Thanks for your dedication!

@Floris distribution added debug symbols are causing file corruption durring packaging process. I explicitly added !debug in options array, so the application should work now.

@AndyM48 In official repos of Arch Linux there is no conflict between python-pyqt6 and naps2-bin (and their respective dependencies)

@Floris maybe you have corrupted file or missing libraries (base-devel group is required to build packages from AUR)

If you are on different distribution other than Arch Linux I can't guarantee successfull build. I can't waste time (I'm very busy, sory) to install bunch of distributions to test work.

Hi Andy! I managed to install Naps2 using "deb.tap" to convert the Nap2-deb package to it's .pkg.tar.zst version and finally installed the last one with pacman. So far it's working great.

Cannot install naps2 if python-pyqt6 already exists in the filesystem.

Hallo! Thank you so much for your work. Please could you check this message from Garuda Linux KDE 6.0.3. Kernel 6.8.2-zen2-1-zen (64bit) X11 and Wayland both, Unfortunately Naps2 7.4.0-1 doesn't run.

"Failure processing application bundle; possible file corruption. Arithmetic overflow while reading bundle. A fatal error occurred while processing application bundle"

@tukz with latest (7.3.0) release there is no need to install libtiff5 to save images in .tiff format *L

7.3.0 also fixes issues /usr not owned by root and tesseract, so there is no need to fix that in PKGBULD

tukz commented on 2023-11-29 15:14 (UTC)

optional dependency: libtiff5 for saving scans in TIFF format

@phillipk the issue should be fixed by now. It is caused by the source package: /usr is owned by regular user (ben:ben 1000:1000) and tesseract can be ran only by it's owner. I completly missed this out, because my uid. Thank you for the report, I added you as a contributor.

Hey, thanks for the AUR package! /usr/lib/naps2/_linux/tesseract seems to have the wrong executable permissions for the OCR function to work properly. On enabling it, I got a "Permission denied" error. # chmod a+x /usr/lib/naps2/_linux/tesseract fixed that, but kind of seems like a sledgehammer solution.
