Neither 1.8.5.0 nor 1.8.7.0 compiles in Arch nowadays, seems to be related to https://gitlab.com/remikz/nccmp/-/issues/14#note_343259496

Workaround for me was:

yay -S gcc9
export CC=/usr/bin/gcc-9
git clean -fdx
makepkg
sudo pacman -U nccmp-1.8.7.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
