This is a demo version that has expired long time ago. It doesn't work. Why would you not say that somewhere before one goes through the whole process?

Why is this extracting the source a second time? makepkg already does it for you. If you want to do it manually, you should use bsdtar instead of the dumb rpmextract wrapper, plus put it in the NoExtract array so that makepkg doesn't do it, too.
